This tale of success begins with a young entrepreneur named Sorin and a set of unlikely circumstances. It all starts when a friend who was leaving for Europe gave him her broken camera to fix and then use. After its' repair the camera lay dormant for two weeks until a photographer friend stopped by and showed Sorin how to turn it on, and so our protagonist became an accidental tourist in the world of photography.

Sorin, who is better known in New York's nightlife and downtown creative circles is now heading full-force into the photography arena.

"I want to thank Michelle for breaking her camera otherwise I may never have found my true passion," Sorin said.

With no formal training and only at it for a couple of months the list of people he has already worked with would make even some seasoned photographers envious. On only day three of his photographic journey he was already covering a Prada event for a new lifestyle magazine. On day five, Sorin spent the afternoon shooting one of Click Models' top girls, Gosia (best known as the Evian mermaid).

He wrapped-up his first week shooting Marcel Salina, one of a handful of top-tier male models worldwide. The images from that shoot now graceSalina's comp card and have been added to his book. "I have worked with some of the top photographers in the world and I see Sorin has the natural instinctto go all the way," Salina says.

For someone at such an early stage of their career Sorin shows a remarkable maturity in his conveyance of an image. "A photo should tell a story, capture an essence, document a drama or reveal an emotion," Sorin says. "The image should truly speak a thousand words. The viewer of the image should for a brief moment be engulfed by the image and become part of that which they see. They should experience the captured moment."

Ultra-chic eatery, industry, slated to open in the spring has enlisted Sorin to produce its food and architectural photography to be used for press releases, event packages and for its interactive website. Co-owner Chris Eddy designed and crafted industry "to pay homage to various creative industries in New York".

"We believe that Sorin will be among a crop of new talent that gains acclaim and respect for their creative contributions in New York City,"Eddy says, "and for that we are pleased to have him as part of our vision here at industry."

Another current project on Sorin's agenda is working with Anton Cobb ofShapes by Anton, whose leather designs have attracted more than 100 celebrity clients. He has commissioned Sorin to photograph his new million-dollar showroom and boutique in Soho and photograph elements of his new collection.

Not bad for 9 1/2 weeks since first turning on a camera. Stay tuned, the adventure has just begun.
